Pray for the PHILIPPINES—That Christ's Commission Reaches Everyone!
Updated: Jul 21

THE PHILIPPINES is often celebrated as one of the world's most beautiful nations. Its more than 7,000 islands, breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and warm, hospitable people have earned the admiration of millions. Yet beneath this beauty lies a far greater reality—one of the most important mission fields in our generation.
Home to more than 117 million people, the Philippines is the only predominantly Christian nation in Asia. Metro Manila alone, with more than 15 million residents, is a bustling crossroads of cultures, ideas, and opportunities.
Yet a nation may carry the name "Christian" while millions still hunger for the truth of God's Kingdom. Religious activity is abundant, but many have never fully understood the Gospel that Jesus Christ preached—the coming Kingdom of God (Mark 1:14-15).
The nation also bears heavy burdens. Devastating typhoons, destructive earthquakes, floods, economic uncertainty, corruption, injustice, and moral decline continue to affect countless lives.
These hardships remind us that humanity's deepest need is not merely political reform or economic recovery, but the return of Jesus Christ, who alone will establish lasting peace and righteous government over all nations (Isaiah 9:6-7; Revelation 11:15).
This is why the Great Commission remains urgent.
Before His ascension, Jesus commanded His disciples, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations" (Matthew 28:19-20). He also declared, "This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come" (Matthew 24:14).
Every believer has the privilege of participating in that mission through prayer, encouragement, generosity, and personal witness.
Please pray that God will continue to open doors for the proclamation of His truth throughout the Philippines. Pray that hearts will be softened, that families will discover genuine hope in Christ, and that many will respond to His calling while there is still time (John 6:44).
Pray for those faithfully serving in the Gospel—that God will grant them wisdom, courage, protection, and endurance despite every obstacle (Ephesians 6:18-20).
The prophetic clock continues to move toward the return of Jesus Christ. The opportunity to proclaim the Gospel will not remain forever. Today is the time to labor while the door remains open (John 9:4).
As Paul urged the Church, "Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving" (Colossians 4:2). Let us also remember his request: "Praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ" (Colossians 4:3).
May our prayers rise before God for the Philippines and for every nation, until the glorious day when "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea" (Isaiah 11:9).
Until then, let us never cease praying that Christ's commission reaches every heart before His soon-coming Kingdom is established!
